We here at DSDHH recognize the importance of having resources for substance abuse and mental health for Deaf, Hard of Hearing and DeafBlind community members.

Due to this, we are sharing this email from Bradley Godfrey, Deaf Behavioral Health Program Manager for Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH) with you all.

Here’s Brad’s email below with a link to a video to watch.

Greetings,

The State of Utah, Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health (DSAMH), is conducting important research in 2021. DSAMH will conduct a Needs Assessment to learn about and improve mental health and substance use services for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing and DeafBlind in Utah. This research will begin in May and continue until Fall, 2021. The research includes an online survey in American Sign Language and English, focus group discussions and in person interviews.

DSAMH wants to learn from people who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing and DeafBlind. DSAMH also wants to learn from providers of mental health and substance use disorder services. We invite you to learn more at the following link: https://vimeo.com/534160603
