Policy and Guidelines - Conduct

The following policies and guidelines have been adapted from Partners with Policymaking from Minnesota Department of Administration policies.

DISCIPLINED BUSINESS CONDUCT GUIDELINES

We will respect our own time and the time of others by:

  1. Respect each individual - Participants are expected to listen to others as they are talking and respect the privacy of each participant who shares a personal story.     What is discussed and shared during each session should stay in the room and not be discussed outside of sessions.
  2. Attending every LADHH session - Mandatory attendance is required. The future of the program depends on upon full participation of participants and faculty.
  3. Being punctual - Agendas are set to give faculty adequate time to cover each topic; and give participants adequate time to discuss issues, and develop and practice critical leadership skills. Please be punctual for all sessions and after breaks.
  4. Being prepared for each weekend session - Participants are expected to complete homework assignments, bring materials for note taking, and think in advance about each topic and how it relates to your own life.
  5. Setting deadlines for completing outside assignments - Participants should develop a schedule for completing homework assignments for each session, and selecting a major project and completing the project. Participants should then keep to that schedule. ** (If you have computer, then please save your homework on your disk. However, you still have to bring the printed copies to LADHH sessions. If you don’t have access to computer, please make copies of your homework and leave them at home.)
  6. Suggesting solutions rather than just identifying problems as issues are discussed - Participants are expected to learn and practice problem solving skills.  Participants, however, are not licensed counselors and outside counseling should be sought when needed to address personal issues.
  7. Paying attention to details - This program has multiple details that need your attention including evaluation forms and participant match. Please complete and submit forms as needed.
  8. Respect each person’s right to learn - Listen to one another’s stories, questions, and contributions to group discussion; know everyone in the group's hearing loss.
